I'm Being Very Good
I've started the year well. I worked only on the wolf until it was done. Now I have only been working on the Japanese girl and dragon, I am enjoying it more now I can see some progress, but there really is no need for so many colour changes. Computer generated charts just throw in so many confetti stitches for no reason.
I have all of my started projects in order and plan to stitch on one at a time until they are all done. Then my fun hobby won't be so overwhelming.
This is the last week of the school holidays, hooray! Not that the boys have been a problem, I just want my routine, same old same old, life back LOL.
Once school starts back I'll be up, motivated and back into routine driving them to school every day, then starting my day. We still have a couple of months of Little Athletics to go, but none of us are enjoying it, so this will be our last season (YAY!!!). Simon will keep going with his Seniors athletics with John, but I'll get my Saturdays back.
Lazy day today. Simon will be driving to his friend's house with me as his passenger, scary when the kids start to drive! Then I'll drive home for a day of the same old same old - housework and stitching.
This afternoon John and I will go and see his renal specialist for a check up. I always worry a little, but John assures me he is feeling well. I'm sleeping better, so obviously less stressed, but there will always be that concern as we just don't know how long this transplant will last and I know John will refuse another if he needed one, we've had that discussion already.
Anyway another day begins.

My first stitchy finish for 2007

This is what I finished yesterday. Now on to the Japanese girl and dragon I've been not working on for the year I've had it LOL.
I'm older and definitely even more spoilt LOL
I truly had a great birthday. Already bored you with the details though. So now I am a year older and certainly spoilt :)
Now back to reality. I started the day by emptying the full washing machine - the garden needed water anyway, but the dog could have stayed out of the way as I carted buckets back and forth.
I rinsed the bedding that had been in the machine out and hand to wring it out by hand - not a fun job.
Now the washing machine is lying outside waiting till John wakes up this afternoon so we can take it in to see if it is worth repairing.
I got my birthday box from Kathy. Yay!!! Happy Dancing big time.
John came home from work 3 hours late, having been in a meeting after a fire at work on the weekend. All management were full of praise for John and the way he managed the evacuation after the fire. But he was pretty tired when he got home. He is working an extra shift tonight too as they are short staffed at the moment.
I've been out and done the grocery shopping, bought Shane's new school trousers - only had to go to one shop this year.
Now I am home to relax, take advantage of my massage chair and stitch :)
Definitely spoilt.

Never put off till tomorrow...
what you should do today.
I have been very good so I thought keeping up with all the washing and ironing. But, yesterday afternoon I was stitching, trying to keep my foot up and rested, so I thought I would wait and iron Justin's work shirt 'in the morning', since I just knew that his shirt was in the ironing basket. WRONG. He starts work at 10am today. I woke up this morning, went to get HIS shirt from the ironing basket....and it is Simon's!!! Checked the laundry and both of Justin's work shirts were waiting to be washed. I didn't have enough light clothes to justify washing a load Friday, and I knew he had a shirt already just waiting to be ironed LOL so I left the little bit of light clothing till the weekend.
So, now while I have breakfast the washing machine is doing its thing, then I'll have to throw his shirt in the dryer and iron it. What a pain. Why do the boys wear different sizes?
To top of a FUN (Not) day I have to take Simon and Shane to athletics this morning. So most of the day is done before it even starts.
On a good note, I have almost finished the horrid Wolf head cros stitch for my SIL's daughter. I am so sick of stitching grey confetti stitching and squinting at the chart to make out the symbols.
Another good thing, John has been bounced from the big hospital back to the small one close to home for his check ups. It means 2 trips, one to the blood clinic the day before his hospital check up and then one to the hospital, but it is a leap forward. No more early morning visits, he'll just see his specialist in the afternoon every 2 weeks or so. Less traffic, less people and a shorter drive :)

What a day Thursday was!!
Forget the fact that it was 40 degrees celsius and I felt like I was melting all day.
Add to that John's salary was messed up, about $300 short for the fortnight, and he won't know why until Monday!! We'll cope, but really it is frustrating as he has been on basic pay for 3 months and things are getting a little tight. We were looking forward to a normal pay.
Then to top it off we have yet another new postie, who couldn't see our mail box. So he zoomed right past. Since we have a big, wide cream coloured mail box set into our silver coloured fence it is pretty obvious even from a distance. But every new postie misses it and then I have to ring the Post Office and tell them yet again that we are not getting our mail. You see we live at Number 12 on a corner, the house next to us is also Number 12 - different street name but same number house. We either get their mail or they get ours. Luckily we know the neighbours. Poor planning on the councils part when the houses were assigned numbers, but that is not our fault.
I guess I am just extra cranky because it is SOOO hot!!! Today is set to be the same, and at 40 celsius for a few days the house gets over heated. Eventually we hope to aircondition the whole house, but for now we suffer.
Ok complaining over :)
